The spotlight this week takes a look at new Ultimate Avengers title by Marvel Comics and the latest BPRD trade paperback.  Click the jump to read all about this week’s featured titles out on April 28.

Ultimate Comics Avengers just concluded last week, but do not fret little one a new Ultimate Comics Avengers titles is right around the corner with the release this week of Ultimate Comics Avengers 2 #1 by Gary Martin and Leinil Francis Yo.  When a job is just too dirty for the Ultimates to handle, Samuel Jackson calls in X-Force, er I meant Nick Fury tabs his Avengers black ops squad to get it done.  However, where does the vigilante Punisher fit into all of this?

For Hellboy fans, the latest volume of B.P.R.D. hits the shelves this week (don’t worry, we will gently place them on the rack) – Volume 12: War on Frogs trade paperback by Mike Mignola, John Arcudi and Karl Moline.  Collecting all four issues of the War on Frogs mini-series plus “Revival” from MySpace Dark Horse Presents #8-#9, and an original eight-page story by Guy Davis.  If all this new content does not get you excited, don’t tell Hellboy as he might just come over and pummel you, with his normal hand.

Brian Reed’s Siege Spider-Man One-Shot is the fourth of five Siege-related one-shots and ships this week, with art by Marko Djurdjevic.  During the battle of Asgard, Spidey comes across his old nemesis – Venom.  The battle in the words of the mighty Volstagg is, legendary.

Brave New Worlds also has plenty of the previous Siege one-shots available – Captain Ameirca, Loki and Young Avengers, all which shipped last week.

Meanwhile, Green Lantern’s rebirth receives the DC Absolute treatment this week with the release of Absolute Green Lantern Rebirth, collecting the original six-issue mini-series by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver.  Along with the story of Hal Jordan’s return to the living and back to his first, best destiny, DC also collects the following in this edition – Green Lantern #1 preview story from Wizard Magazine and a Darwyn Cooke tale from Green Lantern Secret Files 2005.

If you are more a traditionalist, or are not ready to pull out the $75.o0 for the absolute volume, try DC’s new printing of Green Lantern Rebirth, also on shelves this week, where the start of the Blackest Night saga truly began.
