Let’s take a poorly written look at 2 comics I’m looking forward to reading tomorrow… shall we

Batman and Robin #20: New Creative Team! Are there more exciting words in comics!?! I mean you hear those words and, as a fan of the book/characters/creators, somewhere in your brain/heart/soul you get that little electric shock feeling that I like to call an inside scare. When I say exciting maybe I should say polarizing. Comics fans are a grumpy and rarely happy bunch who like a good whine about stuff…especially stuff they love. Hey, I love Grant Morrison a lot (for the longest time I felt like I had to defend Final Crisis all by myself against droves of haters and the like) but he has moved on from the B&R title to other Bat-things. I enjoyed Paul “LEX Talk, More ACTION” Cornell’s arc on the title recently. And the coming team of Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason have been doing some very fine work together a few shelves over from Batman in the Green Lantern Corps title. I am excited to see what they have planned for Dick and Damian in their first arc Dark Knight, White Knight. (sorry if i offended any of you whiners out there…and by sorry i mean i’m not…)

Secret Warriors #24: In a series full of twists and turns it would seem that it was built on them, so many that I seem to have to go back and peruse old issues every time a new one comes out so I’m sure I know who’s on who’s side and all of that sorta stuff, I feel like the biggest surprise for me was that the series will be ending soon…well that and the reveals/events of the last few issues. As this series begins its’ conclusion I still am just as excited as I was for these characters (and well mainly Nick Fury) when they first appeared in Secret Invasion and then later for their series’ #1 issue. While I am sad to see the series start to end I know that Hickman will not just throw this title away. His FF run may be getting all the attention for it’s deaths but man some of the deaths/events in this series warrant their own attention. The storyline titled Wheels Within Wheels begins tomorrow and I am ready!
