Brave these  blizzard like conditions tonight and help support some local comic artists and illustrators down in Old City. Also Jason Aaron (writer of Scalped and Wolverine) quit Alan Moore.

•First off here’s a sweet track from the True Grit soundtrack CLICK HERE

(there is also a site that will turn your youtube favorites into mp3s for you ipod…you better believe i have turned some of my favorite nonsense into tracks so keep your ears peeled when you’re in Old City. CLICK HERE)

•Now back to more serious things. Jason Aaron, who in my book is “top-flight talent”, is a bit upset with the comic book (snake)god that is Alan Moore. Recently I have felt that Moore has gone a bit insane and has become so far removed from the medium he helped rebirth in the 80s and 90s but that will not cause me to quit him entirely like Aaron has…I need to see if he can manage to ruin the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen or make it even greater in the next two installments to vol 3, the book could go either way. Anyways here’s what Mr. Aaron has to say CLICK HERE

In another comics bomb this week DC announced that they will be reprinting the Flex Mentallo mini-series, that I’ve wanted to read for years but haven’t been able to get my hands on! This is a big bit o’ news. Here’s a clip for the Morrison documentary Talking With Gods, that we did a screening for recently, in which Grant himself talks about Mentallo CLICK HERE

•Batman Europa? CLICK HERE

•You say you haven’t been reading American Vampire? Well if this promo image doesn’t get you pumped to read the series I don’t think anything could. Sean Murphy (Joe the Barbarian, Hellblazer City of Demons, Teen Titans Cold Case) draws a mean everything! I’m serious that guy can draw. Toss that at me with what appears to be Pacific Theatre WWII with Vampires and I think you got a new must read! Now this is a variant for the series but if you read the bottom of the Vertigo Blog entry you’ll see that he’s drawing a mini series that ties in this spring. Awesome! CLICK HERE

•Well, Neil Gaiman is officially off the market. Sorry ladies. CLICK HERE

•Like Indiana Jones? Like Jim Steranko? CLICK HERE

•What’s a linkblog w/o a mash-up?  Some sorta slacker linkblog if you ask me. Ghostbusters/Inception…who could ask for more CLICK HERE

•Someone please make these real life “superheroes” stop…please… CLICK HERE

•Tim and Eric have a new trailer out for their Sundance short The Terrys. CLICK HERE

•You haven’t really been on the internet in the last week if you somehow missed this Golden Voiced Homeless Man sensation. CLICK HERE (he’s amazing)

•Some of our customers DJ. I love the promo they made for this weekend’s dance party @ Kung Fu Knecktie CLICK HERE

AND lastly it’s First Friday. Come out and check out the South Fellini show in Old City. It’s gonna be a good time.

my cousin sent me this
