MATTER-EATER LAD
Matter-Eater Lad, real name Tenzil Kem, first appeared in Adventure Comics #303 and was created by, Superman creator, Jerry Siegel along with Mort Weisinger. While I know he is a member of the team, I know very little about the Legion of Super-Heroes, so I will share info about them as well making this sort of a bonus weekend!

One of the great charms of early LoSH was the useless powers of some of its members. Poor Tenz, he had jaws of steel and an iron stomach. Of course he parlayed his status as a legionaire into a political career on his home world Bismoll later winning the hand of the beautiful (albeit older) Eve Aries a.k.a. Saturn Queen. The Legion of Substitute Heroes Special featuring Matter-Eater Lad is still one of the funniest comics ever . Guided By Voices even wrote a song “Matter-Eater Lad”. One of their best and hardest to find 45’s.
Finally, who could ever forget how Tenzil risked his sanity and stomach lining to save all of existance by eating the Miracle Machine!
I hope DC comes through with a new Legion Flight Ring as a giveaway with the new Legion title(s).Tenzil thinks comic book swag is delicious. There’s always room for swag.
