Free Comic Book Day 2010 is almost here – Saturday, May 1.  So the real question is, which Brave New Worlds location are you planning on attending for the day’s festivities?

Brave New Worlds Willow Grove

Marvel Comics artist Billy Tan (Thor) and Marvel Comics writer Duane Swierczynski (Cable, Iron Fist) will both be signing autographs from 1-3 p.m.

But wait, there’s more – the  Zenescope Comics’ 2009 Girl of the Year and Runner-Up will both be in attendance dressed as DC Comics Zatanna and Marvel Comics Black Cat, respectively.

Plus, Brave New Worlds Willow Grove will also be hosting Warhammer 40k, Dungeons & Dragons and HeroClix demonstrations during the day.

And of course, we will also have a select group of free comic books available as well.

Check out the 501st Star Wars Legion of Stormtroopers, Spider-Man and the 8′ Zombie Hulk (cos-play that you gotta see!) along with local artists groups doing sketches all day long.

Now that Brave New Worlds took that next step and got itself a new fangled Twitter Account (that i am sure you are all following…that is if you do in fact have a twitter account yourself) you out there in internet world should have an even greater pulse on all things BNW. Superheroes. These 2 books are all about superheroes. So if you don’t enjoy a good yarn heavily focused on years of spandex based continuity (and for some reason i never really pictured them in spandex more of sweatpants or something i dunno) then you may also have these 2 books on your to read stack…

In a few days Marvel will be releasing the X-Men: Second Coming #1 and to be sure you get all of the issues in this series that is promising Death and Leadership(?) [as well as some sort of Second Coming] we’re putting the oh so handy Checklist, that we have been giving out actual copies at the shops, here in a nice digital form, that you can save on your computer forever. You’re welcome.

Today marks a first in “A Character” history. I have taken my first submission/recommendation for a character, and not had to have done all the tedious/backbreaking/high stress sleuthing into the nether reaches of Marvel and DC’s vast treasure trove of colorful, bizarre and sometimes crappy characters.
